The details...
How do we get to the Bush Boardrooms?

Waitākere: Velskov is situated at 627 Huia Road, Parau, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, just 25-35 minutes drive from Auckland CBD. Secure parking is available.
Southern Coromandel: At Onetai Estate, which is halfway between Thames and Paeroa off SH25. Plenty of parking available.
Capacity at each location
Maungatautari: For groups of 6 - 16
Waitākere: For groups of 8 - 20
Pureora: For groups of 6 - 26
How far do we have to walk?
This depends on which location and which package you choose.
Maungatautari: For packages including our mindful hike, your team may walk up to 5km over the course of the day. It's around 1km on a gravel bush track to walk into the secret spot the bush boardroom is nestled. There are some short, steeper sections and ups and downs!
Waitākere: The track at Velskov is a bush track mix of metal, dirt, foliage and roots. There are some steep sections but overall you may walk 1-3km over the day.
Southern Coromandel: The track to the Bush Boardroom is gravelled with stairs and a handrail. It's only about 50m into the bush from the property edge.
Fitness requirements
We know that not everyone will be experienced when it comes to the outdoors and hiking, and that's fantastic. Getting a little out of comfort zone in safe hands is what it's all about. We can cater to most fitness levels and abilities and will work within your groups capabilities. As a rough guideline, individuals should be able to walk for an hour continuously with a few steep inclines on a sometimes uneven surface at a very gentle pace.
Accessibility
All of our tracks at each of our Bush Boardroom locations have gradients which makes wheelchair access difficult or impossible, depending on the ability of the person using the chair, their supporters and the sort of chair. We would like to be more accessible but the terrain makes this difficult.
What about the weather?
We have complete rain cover for each of our Bush Boardrooms, so the rain isn't a problem for your meetings.
For the other components of our packages, as long as everyone comes prepared with rain jackets and umbrella's we will still go ahead.
Rain policy
We will go ahead with the agreed programme if there is rain on the day(s), as long as it is safe to do so.
Wind
If there are high winds over 70km/hour, the whole of the Southern Enclosure at Maungatautari closes for safety. At our other venues we will apply the same caution. In these instances, we will arrange an alternative date that suits both parties at no additional cost.
What seasons/months do you operate?
We run our packages year round. We have heating, blankets and hot chocolate for the coolers months!
Cell phone coverage?
Maungatautari: There is limited cell phone reception at this Bush Boardroom - you will find some patchy coverage spots if you are a spark customer. Your host will never be far and is usually based at the bush shelter with a radio for emergencies.
Waitākere: There is reception/coverage at Velskov.
Pureora: There is patchy cell phone coverage at Onetai Estate, WiFi available in the house and ground but not at the Bush Boardroom.
Unplugged?
There is no power at our Bush Boardrooms! We think simple is best, so do away with powerpoints and laptops, but provide an easel with paper and pens to use.
