There has been a real buzz in the office today from the experience, for those that don’t do much in the outdoors it pushed some boundaries and for those that enjoy the outdoors it always provides a sense of calmness and serenity. The flow of the day worked well for us, the mindfulness hike was a highlight – it slowed everyone down and got them into the right frame to be present. The survival activity was a great refresher and change of pace, got people up and about, thinking differently and working together. Catering was superb. The whole environment reinforced the value of getting away . There is something special about Maungatautari.

Our Leadership team had the privilege of joining Nature & Nosh and Rachel Matheson for the Building Resilience Workshop, leaving each of us with many empowering tools to use in our personal and professional lives. With endless wellbeing frameworks and resources available out there, the power of this experience came from removing ourselves from the noise, focusing on the facilitated activities and conversations. These moments enabled us to really unpack why we respond the way we do and consider ways we can act more mindfully. The focus for the programme captured everything we had hoped to achieve (and more)! How often do we take the opportunity to be mindful before racing off to the next meeting? In our world it’s unheard of, so to spend the day in the pristine environment of Sanctuary Mountain was an absolute privilege. A mindful hike and education session about the sanctuary, coming across the hidden #bushboardroom was a real delight. Nestled amongst the trees with the (at times very loud!) sound of native birds all around us, talking about the finances didn’t really compare! Kylie is a great host and passionate about her work and the food was amazing. Finishing the day with a foraging expedition and a unique afternoon tea (no grubs involved …) – we can’t recommend this highly enough.

The Bush Boardroom was the catalyst to bring us outside and connect with the forest our senses and eliminate the need for our phones albeit a small amount of time. Over the day we connected each other, found our creativity and could feel ourselves slowing down and finding more vigour in our thinking processes. It was a brilliant way for our group to come together in the absence of social media and reconnect with people. It was rewarding to be able to bring together a range of personalities from our business, eliminate the clutter and interruptions and focus clearly on the creative development of programs to solve our customers problems.
